My approach

I do not make compromises when it comes to the quality of my work, both for my clients as well as for my audience, meaning that I always strive to achieve the very best results, pushing myself and my gear to the max to get the job done.

Since September 2016 I can call myself a full time self-employed and fully self-taught professional photographer. I am from The Netherlands but my work takes me all over the world. Because of this I get to meet a lot of new people in both corporate as well as private settings. This is one of the many things I truly enjoy about my work.

I have a long history as a professional DJ in my country so it might not come as a big surprise that interior photography of catering businesses, restaurants and bars, as well as event and concert photography, launched me into my professional photography career. This is also where my passion for lowlight photography comes from because of the ambiance in those dim lit late night venues.

My greatest passion however is travellingI like to shoot a lot of nature and land city scapes both domestic as well as abroad. Over the years I landed numerous jobs in a wide variety of other photographical disciplines such as architecture, urban exploring (urbex), interior design, weddings, portraiture, family shoots and fast action sports, to name a few. Lastly, I also go on the occasional nighttime photography hunt. I like to challenge myself, to learn new disciplines and to perfect the ones I think I already know even further. I run my succesful and thriving photography business professionally since September 2016. Prior to that I have always been busy with photography as a hobby. Over the years I acquired all photography skills and know-how on my own. Of course this is a never ending process and I keep learning new things every single day.

I particularly enjoy working with others in order to constantly keep learning and I just as much enjoy passing on my gained knowledge onto others. I am highly active on social media where I regularly share my work, so definitely add me and be sure to like, share and subscribe (I always reply) and I also run an active BLOG on this website too.

Towards my clients I don't like fuss and confusion and I really see it as my job to put my clients at ease. I want to give them the feeling that they matter and that they don't have to worry about a single thing. The job you have for me will be done in the way you describe it. Because of my broad skill set in a wide variety of photograpical disciplines, my tools need to be able to handle all kinds of sometimes tough and demanding circumstances, which means I am using the best equipment available. I always keep myself up to date about those latest advances in technology that are useful and benificial to my work and I combine that with my passion for (assembling and building) computers and IT as well. All of this, combined with my ever expanding skill set, guarantees the best possible result for you!

My philosophy

I keep improving myself everyday and try to learn something from every situation that presents itself. I push myself to understand and master every possibility of my tools, my equipment.

At the same time I keep myself educated on the fast-paced developments in my field by regularly watching and read reviews and keeping up to date from all major photography websites and camera and lens manufacterers. I watch and follow a wide variety of photographers and content creators on social media. And... I go on photo walks almost every day if I don't have a photography gig. I also reguarly travel around the country to search for and try out new gear and I like just driving to a place and simply start taking photos. I have a thing for urbex photography and architecture, so driving to a random city and shooting a series or two is a common thing for me.

I can honestly say that love every aspect of both the craft as well as the job. From actually taking and editing photos to the entire business aspect of photography. That includes buying and trying out lenses, talking with and teaching others about photography, the entire social media circus surrounding my own brand, building and updating my website, getting in touch with fans, walking through a muddy field in the rain in the morning to watch and capture a sunset that might not even be visible in the end. I don't think I will ever grow tired of this.

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, it was a bit of a blow at first because we couldn't go anywhere, but it also opened up a whole bunch of new possibilities. An acquaintance of mine once said that us photographers are creators. We create beautiful things out of nothing, armed with only a camera as our tool together with our greatest asset: our creativity. This has been my philosophy about photography ever since. What started out as a hobby turned into something beautifut. It's not just a job. Photography has become my entire lifestyle and since I am self-emplyed, I will never see it as a job. When I am hired for a shoot: I am a photographer, it's my passion and this is my story. βˆŽ
